I have avoided My Talking Tom like the plague. Simply because every time I saw that cat mug it reminded me of Five Nights at Freddy's. But as it turned out, this critter is less creepy when it is animated than what the game's icon suggests to me.

My Talking Schrodinger (because that's how I've chosen to name him) is a Tamagochi type game where you take care of the simple needs of a cat while you exploit his waking time to play games and feed him cakes and other gourmet items.

Schrodinger gets sleepy after a while and must be sent to bed before anything else. His nap time is fairly long, considering that I was expecting instant gratification with this app. Fortunately, you can shorten it or even skip it by administering special magic potions. The cat also gets hungry and needs to go to the loo from time to time. Of course, he is absolutely helpless in this regard and must be directed by you to do anything.

Besides the overall cute looks and sounds, My Talking Tom is best suited to play a series of games that borrow heavily from other known titles. You will find games similar to Puzzle Bobble, Bejeweled or Crossy Road for example. There are 15 games in total and some are quite entertaining to say the least.

Tom's activities increase his 'experience' gauge. Once it is filled, he gains a level (and grows a bit). Each level unlocks some apparel items. These cost gold coins mind you, but don't worry. Playing games, getting presents and fulfilling challenges will slowly give you coins over the course of the game.

I had quite a lot of fun with this game. I especially liked the food shopping part where I got to fill a shopping cart with all types of foodstuff and then serve Tom er... I mean Schrodinger as much as I wanted, and seeing his metamorphose into a fat cat.
